Outdoor Broadcasting Van
Pro Audile has its own outdoor broadcasting van, which was updated in the spring of 2022. The OB van enables versatile recording and streaming capabilities in almost any location.
What on earth is an outdoor broadcasting van?
An outdoor broadcasting van refers to a mobile production unit designed to facilitate various types of recordings and streaming in different locations. It functions as a portable studio, providing all the necessary equipment and tools for audio and video production. Outdoor broadcasting van offers flexibility and enables professional production anywhere. In Finland, there are only a few individual units besides YLE's cars, and our outdoor broadcasting van is the only one among private operators specialized in acoustic music but adaptable for other uses as well.
In our OB van, the studio is permanently housed within the van, and our fiber optic cabling allows recording from distances all the way up to 250 meters. For instance, many churches boast beautiful acoustics, and with our car, recording in church halls becomes effortless. Our OB van accommodates a total of 128 audio channels, and our video mixer allows simultaneous use of eight cameras, enabling us to execute even large-scale productions.
What does the OB van contain?
Our OB van provides production facilities for up to five people. This typically includes a recording engineer station, two stations for video processing related to streaming and video recording, and depending on the production, a few spots for either the producer or the score reader.
Comfort is not compromised either. Our OB van is equipped with floor heating across the entire floor, ensuring warmth and comfort even during the coldest winters. Additionally, the van includes a coffee corner, a small refrigerator, and a microwave, all of which are of course also available for the client's use!
Why you should choose this?
In the outdoor broadcasting van, monitoring conditions are always stable. When compared to direct in-room monitoring with headphones, various details may easily go unnoticed, such as background noise or parabolic reflections, which can sometimes be impossible to correct afterwards. The control room in the outdoor production car provides optimal conditions for accurately hearing what the microphones in the room are actually capturing.
During recordings, there's also a real-time video feed from the musicians to the control room, facilitating production. Additionally, it's possible to communicate aloud in the car during production, discussing current and upcoming actions. Such communication can be extremely crucial in certain productions.
During a long recording session, for instance, a conductor or choir director may experience significant pressure, so the car also serves as a retreat for them to take a moment to relax.
Environmentally friendly
Our outdoor broadcasting van is the green choice for environmentally conscious individuals. The car belongs to the EURO6 emission classification, which is the latest and strictest among EU emission standards. Additionally, the equipment acquired for the car is, whenever possible, either Finnish or European quality products. These devices are durable and can be serviced, making them more environmentally friendly. When parked at home, the outdoor production car operates on solar power. We strive to make all decisions with environmental values in mind.
